NPORS N138 - Telescopic Handler Suspended Loads - Novice

This Novice Course is for those who will be required to work with underslung telehandler lifting equipment with little or no experience.

Since the inspection, operation and use of a variety of lifting accessories and equipment can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health. A good understanding of spoken and written English is required.

By the end of the course, the delegates will be bale to answer questions on and perform the following:

• Have a basic understanding of your industry, the dangers of working in your industry and their responsibilities as underslung operator
• Have a working knowledge LOLER, PUWER and other lifting related regulations for the particular use of lifting equipment and accessories to be used
• Be able to identify the accessories and explain their functions
• Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions in terms of lifting
• Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for underslung use
• Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
• Operate as a underslung operator safely and efficiently
• Be able to establish effective communication methods
• Transport and land underslung loads
• Environmental considerations
• Carry out all end of shift checks and storage of accessories

Successful delegates will be issued with a relevant NPORS Operators Card which is valid for 3-5 years, depending on the chosen certification route.

Important Information: All delegates must bring photo identification, this can include a valid Passport or Driving Licence.
